Parliament, Sunday, 06 August 2017 – The Portfolio Committee on Rural Development and Land Reform will tomorrow hold public hearings on the Communal Property Associations Amendment Bill [B12-2017] in George, Western Cape. This forms part of nationwide hearings to afford the public an opportunity to make meaningful inputs in reforming the principal act.

The Bill is intended to remedy some of the challenges that have been identified in the implementation of the principal Act, which was passed in 1996. This is to ensure that CPAs function effectively to ensure success of land reform projects.
