Parliament, Tuesday, 13 June 2017 – The Portfolio Committee on Transport will today visit the Cape Town train station, following the torching of two trains last night at a platform and the vandalism of some shops.

The Acting Chairperson for the Committee, Mr Leonard Ramatlakane, said it is important that the Committee acts punctually in order to understand the extent of the challenges that commuters face as a result of the vandalism. He said the vandalism and destruction of infrastructure is unacceptable and he condemned it in the strongest terms possible.
