Parliament, Monday, 14 May 2018 – The Portfolio Committee on Transport will tomorrow continue with public hearings into the Road Accident Benefit Scheme Bill. The hearings are scheduled to continue throughout the week.

Tomorrow, the Black Lawyers’ Association and the Scalabrini Centre, based in Cape Town, will make oral presentations. The Bill proposes a new benefit scheme for road accident victims and is intended to ensure that victims of motor-vehicle accidents are adequately and timeously compensated.
