Parliament, Wednesday, 29 April 2020 – The Portfolio Committee on Trade and Industry and the Select Committee on Trade and Industry, Economic Development, Small Business, Tourism, Employment and Labour, have acceded to Minister Ebrahim Patel’s request to brief them on government’s response to the potential negative impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on economy and the mitigating measures on a later date.

Minister Patel explained his unavailability to brief the committees today in a letter where he said he attended the meeting of the Covid-19 National Command Council.

Another virtual joint meeting will be held on Friday, 1 May 2020, between 9 and 11 in the morning where Minister Patel will brief the committees.
