Parliament, Thursday, 12 March 2020 – The Portfolio Committee on Justice and Correctional Services’ Subcommittee on Correctional Services will tomorrow be briefed on remand detention, programmes for remand detainee children and measures to reduce remand detainees with bail of less than R1 000. It will also receive a briefing on the parole system, including challenges, successes and recommendations in the system as a whole and on pending parole for high-profile inmates.
