Parliament, Tuesday 15 May 2018 – On behalf of Parliament, the Presiding Officers extend well wishes to all Muslims in South Africa, as Ramadan begins this week.
The holy period of Ramadan is characterised by fasting, prayer, compassion and reflection. These activities associated with Ramadan also have resonance with all of our society, as we strive to create a more just and caring world, one in which conflict and violence is rare.
