Parliament, Friday 7 February 2014 - Members of the media are invited to a briefing on the February 2014 State of the Nation Address by Parliament's Presiding Officers.
At the briefing, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Max Sisulu, and the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces Mr Mninwa Mahlangu, together with their deputies, will provide details about Parliament's hosting of the 2014 State of the Nation Address.
Details to be provided will include:
- Format and highlights of the ceremony
- Public participants in the ceremony (Junior and Civil Guards of Honour, Eminent Persons)
- Guests expected to attend
- Live broadcasts of the State of the Nation Address
- Engagement by Parliament with the State of the Nation Address after 13 February
Members of the media will have an opportunity to attend a demonstration of the upgraded audio and information technology facilities in the National Assembly following the briefing.
