Parliament, Tuesday, 23 January 2024 – The Presiding Officers of Parliament express their condolences to Mr Amos Masondo, the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, and his family, on the sad passing of their beloved son, Nkululeko Masondo, at the age of 24.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, visited the Masondo family today to convey the heartfelt sympathies of Parliament and offer support. In this trying moment, our thoughts and prayers are with the Chairperson and his family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
Said the Speaker: "We share in the grief of our Chairperson and his family on this devastating loss. Losing a child is an indescribable pain that no parent should have to bear, and Parliament stands firmly by the Masondo family. We extend our deepest condolences and wish them strength, solace, and resilience as they navigate through this profound pain."
May the soul of Nkululeko Masondo rest in eternal peace.
