19 March 2017 - Parliament is saddened and shocked by the passing of renowned veteran actor Mr Joe Mafela during the early hours of today. Affectionately known to the legion of followers of his accomplished career as 'Sdumo', Mr Mafela was amongst the most outstanding actors whose talent was a source of inspiration and source of pride to generations of South Africans. His passing is a devastating loss to the arts industry and the nation as a whole.
Parliament extends its sincere sympathies and condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and friends of this great South African.
