Parliament, Thursday, 19 September 2019 – Following the suspension of the Provincial Week Programme by a day in the Gauteng Province to ensure that Gauteng’s delegates to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) attend the Joint Sitting of Parliament that took place today, the programme will resume today, 19 September in the province.

The Provincial Week Programme is the NCOP’s flagship programme. This year’s programme is carried out under the Theme: ‘Building sustainable, responsive and people-centred Municipalities’.

During the programme, the delegates together with Members of the Provincial Legislature interact directly with ordinary citizens on service delivery issues that include, housing, water infrastructure maintenance and waste collection and etc.

The delegates will today visit various service delivery sites that include, National Health Insurance pilot sites, Waste Water Treatment Plants and economic development sites.
