Parliament, Wednesday 14 March 2018 – The National Assembly will tomorrow hold a debate on Human Rights Day. The debate will be held under the theme: Celebrating the Centenary of NR Mandela by promoting and deepening a Human Rights culture across society.

Human Rights Day is a national public holiday which is commemorated on 21 March in remembrance of the Sharpeville massacre which took place on 21 March 1960. This massacre occurred as a result of protests against the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
