Parliament, Tuesday, 2 May 2023 – The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) has rescheduled meetings arising out of former Eskom Group Chief Executive Officer Mr André de Ruyter’s appearance before the committee due to the unavailability of some of the people required for the meetings.

The committee has been informed that the Minister of Public Enterprises, Mr Pravin Gordhan, is on official business abroad, while the Eskom Board has requested additional time and the Presidential Advisor, Dr Sydney Mufamadi, is on official business abroad.

The committee has re-scheduled meetings arising out of Mr de Ruyter’s appearance as follows: on Tuesday, 9 May 2023, the committee will be briefed on Eskom-related matters by the Special Investigating Unit, the Directorate of Priority Crime Investigations and the National Commissioner of SAPS. On Wednesday, 10 May, the committee will meet with the Eskom Board. On Wednesday, 17 May, the committee will meet with the Minister of Public Enterprises and on Tuesday, 23 May, the committee will meet with Dr Mufamadi, the Presidential Advisor.
