Parliament, Tuesday, 3 August 2021 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Works and Infrastructure is deeply saddened by the passing of the Chief Executive Officer of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB), Mr Cyril Gamede.
The committee remembers Mr Gamede as the the ultimate professional. He led the CIDB as a public works entity from which the committee always received reports of the highest standards.
Mr Gamede became the CEO of the CIDB at the beginning of 2020 and the committee has worked very well with him during this period. His passing is a loss to the pulic works and infrastructure sector and the country.
The committee sends its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, the staff of CIDB, the construction sector, as well as the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure. The committee wishes them strength during this difficult time.
