Parliament, Sunday, 1 June 2025 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements, Mr Nocks Seabi, has learned with shock the senseless and brutal killing of Mr Khethamabala Petros Sithole, a member of the committee.
He said: "The senseless killing of Mr Sithole is a reminder of the violent society we live in and the need for urgent action to combat violent crime in the country. This one act has robbed our committee of a dedicated member who had the interests of the people at heart.
Mr Seabi called on law enforcement agencies to act with urgency in investigating the incident and to bring perpetrators to book. "Such wanton criminality that has struck cold debilitating blow on the hearts of the Sithole Family and friends, his political party the Inkatha Freedom Party, Parliament and the country as a whole demand urgent investigation that will lead to conviction.
Mr Seabi has extended heartfelt condolences to the Sithole family and to the committee. May they find solace in the knowledge that Mr Sithole gave his life to serving the people.
