Parliament, Thursday, 14 May 2026 – The Joint Committee on Ethics and Members’ Interests has resolved that the complaints lodged against the Minister, the Deputy Minister, and a Member of Parliament are unfounded or that the complaints lodged against them are not competent to be determined by the Committee for lack of jurisdiction.

The Minister and Deputy Minister are:

  • Minister Gayton McKenzie, MP, the Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture.
  • Mr Ganief Hendrikcks, MP, the Deputy Minister of Social Development.

The Member of Parliament is:

  • Mr Ashley Qhoeke Sauls, MP

The Committee remains steadfast in its quest to ensure the accountability of all Members of Parliament as demanded by the code. The full Committee Report will be published in the Announcements, Tablings and Committee Reports (ATC).
