Parliament, Wednesday, 17 January 2024 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies, Mr Boyce Maneli, has noted the closing date for written submissions on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) SOC LTD Bill [B32-2023] and has thanked those who used the opportunity to comment on the Bill.
On Friday, 17 November 2023, the committee publicly invited interested individuals and stakeholder organisations to submit written comments on the Bill and indicated that the deadline was going to be 15 December 2023, which was later extended to 16 January 2024.
The committee will now allow its secretariat to take stock of all submissions and get a briefing at an appropriate time. Thereafter, it will announce the next steps in processing the Bill further.
