Parliament, Thursday, 29 February 2024 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises, Mr Khaya Magaxa, refutes in the strongest possible terms the letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa that is circulating under his name on social media platforms. It is claimed that the letter with the subheading: “Call for the removal of Minister Pravin Gordan from office due to the South African Airways debacle” had been written by him. Said Mr Maxaga: “It has come to my attention that there is a letter purportedly written by me as the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises, which is currently circulating on social media. I would like to categorically state that this letter is fake and written for malicious reasons,” said Mr Magaxa. Mr Magaxa added that the letter in question was fraudulently attributed to him as a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and create confusion. “We urge the public to exercise caution and verify the authenticity of any information it comes across on social media platforms.” ISSUED BY THE PARLIAMENTARY COMMUNICATION SERVICES ON BEHALF OF THE CHAIRPERSON OF THE PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC ENTERPRISES, MR KHAYA MAGAXA.
