Parliament, Tuesday, 29 September 2026 – The Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, Ms Lusizo Makhubela, will attend the official opening of the (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) CSIR FuturePharma Facility.
The opening represents an important milestone in strengthening South Africa’s pharmaceutical research, innovation and manufacturing capabilities, and in advancing the translation of scientific research into locally produced medicines, vaccines and economic opportunities.
The Chairperson welcomes the opportunity to join the CSIR and key stakeholders in marking this significant investment in South Africa’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem. “The committee appreciates this remarkable opportunity of development, which raises hope for a better future,” said Ms Makhubela.
