Parliament, Friday, 5 September 2025 – The Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate Allegations made by the South African Police Service KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi today received an update report on preparations for the hearings.

The committee also heard that evidence leaders have been appointed for the process. Adv Norman Arendse SC will lead the team with the assistance of Adv Maria Mokhaoetsi and AdvLerato Zikalala.

The progress report on identified witnesses indicated that consultations are ongoing. The committee will explore further ways to ensure the availability of all witnesses. The committee is required to report on its findings to the National Assembly no later than 31 October 2025.
