Parliament, Thursday, 30 November 2023 – The Ad Hoc Committee on the General Intelligence Laws Amendment Bill yesterday welcomed the introduction of the General Intelligence Laws Amendment Bill (GILAB) to Parliament by the State Security Agency.
The committee will now commence the process of engaging and deliberating on the Bill. It is scheduled to call for written submissions on the Bill before Parliament rises for the year. The committee also plans to continue with the public participation process by conducting oral public hearings in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape, Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces in January and February 2024.
