Parliament, Tuesday, 25 October 2022 – Media representatives who are not part of the lockup session arranged by the Treasury but planning to cover tomorrow’s Medium Budget Policy Statement (MTBPS) at the Cape Town City Hall must collect their accreditation tags at Parliament’s Visitor’s Centre from 6am on Wednesday 26 October 2022.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Only accredited media, in possession of accreditation tags, will have access to the City Hall on Wednesday, 26 October, the date of the MTBPS.
  • Media representatives accredited for the lockup may use the same accreditation tags to access the City Hall.

MEDIA IN THE PUBLIC GALLERY OF THE CITY HALL

  • Media accredited with access to the City Hall public gallery must be seated by 13h45.
  • Media have been allocated 15 seats in the public gallery.
  • To limit movement during proceedings of the House, only six photographers in the gallery will be allowed to take pictures at a time, on rotational basis. A parliamentary official is designated to manage this process.
  • Use of tripods in the gallery will not be permitted

All accredited broadcast media may obtain live feeds from Parliament’s Broadcast and Audio Visual Technical Support Unit. Please contact Mr Titus Mmekoa on 082 677 6981.

PLEASE DO

  • Display your accreditation tag and wear the bib issued to you at all times while in the City Hall
  • Follow guidance from media coordinators and security officials
  • On-the-spot interviews, filming and photography must only take place only in designated areas or where there is no obstruction of movement
