Parliament, Monday, 4 May 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Tourism will tomorrow consider and adopt its budget vote report. It will also adopt minutes of its previous meetings.
In terms of Section 27 of the Public Finance and Management Act and the Money Bills Amendment Procedure Act, it is a constitutional and legal requirement that Parliament must approve department budgets by means of budget votes. Each department has a vote number; for example, Tourism is Vote no. 33. The Portfolio Committee must oversee this budget vote by scrutinising the department’s budget, strategic plan and annual performance plan and then report to the National Assembly, recommending whether to adopt the budget.
Details of the meeting are as follows:
Date: 5 May 2026
Time: 10:00–12:00
Venue: Zoom Virtual Platform and on You Tube
