Parliament, Monday, 31 March 2025 – The Standing Committee on Appropriations (SCOA) will conduct public hearings on the 2025 Division of Revenue Amendment Bill in Polokwane.
The committee invites stakeholders and interested parties to submit written and/or oral submissions on the Bill during the public hearings. Mr Mmusi Maimane, Chairperson of the committee, said: “We are engaging directly with communities, organised formations, businesses and trade unions to ensure their voices shape the budget process. Our goal is to reflect on the constitutional principle of ‘We the People’ by incorporating public inputs into our final recommendations to the executive.”
In line with its commitment to participatory democracy, the committee is shifting from traditional virtual/hybrid parliamentary hearings to community-based engagements, to ensure that budget decisions truly represent the will of the people.
