Parliament, Monday, 27 April 2026- The Standing Committee on Appropriations will from, 28–30 April, undertake oversight visits in Gauteng to engage key institutions responsible for fiscal policy, revenue collection, statistics, and monetary policy. The committee will engage with the National Treasury, Statistics South Africa, and the South African Reserve Bank.
The engagements aim to strengthen the committee’s understanding of government’s fiscal interventions to improve spending efficiency and outcomes. These include the Budget Facility for Infrastructure, Targeted and Responsible Savings, the Fiscal Literacy Campaign, and the Infrastructure Bonds. The committee will also reflect on South Africa’s removal from the grey list by the Financial Action Task Force.
The committee will also have an engagement with the Governor of the SARB on the implications of the revised inflation target, as well as coordination between fiscal and monetary policy to support the country’s development goals.
On Thursday, the programme will conclude with a joint oversight visit with the Portfolio Committee on Finance to the South African Revenue Service for a briefing on compliance and the illicit economy.

Tuesday, 28 April 2026: National Treasury Offices, 40 Church Square, Old Reserve Bank, Pretoria
Wednesday, 29 April 2026: South African Reserve Banks, 370 Helen Joseph Street, Pretoria
Thursday, 30 April 2026: South African Revenue Service, Lehae La Sars, 299 Bronkhorst Street, Pretoria
