Parliament, Thursday, 20 March 2025 – The Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) will next week conduct oversight visits to the OR Tambo District Municipality and the Buffalo City Metro Municipality in the Eastern Cape province.
During the induction of the members of SCOPA at the start of the 7th Parliament, the committee agreed to put more focus on municipalities, based on the issues identified in the 6th Parliament legacy report and the challenges facing municipalities that have a negative impact on service delivery.
SCOPA received detailed presentations from the Auditor-General and the Special Investigating Unit on issues affecting the two municipalities.
