Parliament, Monday, 9 September 2024 – The Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs will meet on Tuesday with the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) to receive a briefing on the support the organisation provides struggling municipalities. SALGA is expected to provide a briefing on the kind of assistance provided, the effectiveness of the support and ongoing challenges.
The meeting will also discuss SALGA’s views on the effectiveness of coalitions in local government.
