Parliament, Tuesday, 4 November 2025 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Service and Administration will tomorrow receive a briefing from labour organisations on issues its members are facing concerning healthcare benefits and the governance of the Government Employee Medical Scheme (GEMS).
Following its meeting in July, the committee will also receive a follow-up briefing from GEMS in terms of administration and governance impacting the provision of the benefits to its members and its pricing model. Members earlier expressed concerns, particularly about affordability for low-income public servants.
