Parliament, Monday 17 April 2023 – The Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities will from tomorrow conduct oversight visits in Mpumalanga Province to assess progress on programmes by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) in addressing gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF), gender equality and youth unemployment in the province.
The committee is particularly concerned about GBV and high youth unemployment in the province.
