Parliament, Monday, 24 November 2025 – The Portfolio Committee on Mineral and Petroleum Resources will meet tomorrow, Tuesday, 25 November 2025, to receive a briefing from the Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources on the new mining licensing system called Cadastre System.

The Cadastre System is a digital, map-based platform designed to record, manage and track mineral rights and licensing information. It replaces the outdated South African Mineral Resources Administration (SAMRAD) system, which had been limited by poor transparency and technical constraints.

The new system offers a real-time, transparent and publicly accessible interface that allows for improved tracking of applications, rights and land information.

Meeting Details:
Date: Tuesday, 25 November 2025
Time: 09:30–13:30
Venue: Committee Room 1, 90 Plein Street, Parliament
