Parliament, Thursday, 27 August 2026 – A joint meeting of the Portfolio Committee on Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), the Portfolio Committee on Home Affairs and the Standing Committee on Security and Justice will tomorrow receive another briefing on the processing of the Electoral Reform Consultation Panel (ERCP) Report.
Members will be briefed by the Parliament Legal Services and the committee’s content advisor on options in respect of legislative processes.
The committees considered the majority and minority ERCP Report in April this year after concerns were raised about the two versions submitted to Parliament. The Panel was established to review and propose options for electoral reform for the election of the National Assembly and provincial legislatures.
