Parliament, Monday, 13 October 2025 – The Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation will from tomorrow conduct an oversight visit to the Department of International Relations and Cooperation’s (DIRCO’s) Head Office.

The committee’s oversight visit at the DIRCO Head Office will focus on the diplomatic academy, protocol, and the Pan African Parliament site where it will engage with resident African ambassadors.

On Tuesday, the committee will consider as well as adopt its Budget Recommendations and Review Report. It will also have a session with the Diplomatic Training Academy in the afternoon.

On Wednesday the committee will receive a briefing on the Diplomatic Academy from the Diplomatic Training Research Development branch where it will engage with the newly recruited cadets. The committee will also receive an update on the state of readiness for the hosting of the G20 Summit by Global Governance and Continental Agenda and Protocol and Consular Services branches.

On Thursday the committee will engage with resident African Heads of Mission under the theme: “Promoting Trade with Mutual Benefit through diplomatic relations.” The committee will wrap its oversight by an inspection of the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand on Friday, where it will engage with the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure.
