Parliament, Thursday, 8 October 2026 – The Standing Committee on Finance will tomorrow, Friday, 9 October 2026, be briefed by the Pension Funds Adjudicator, the South African Local Government Association and the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs on municipalities’ failure to pay pension contributions.
The virtual meeting will provide an opportunity for the committee to receive information on the challenges relating to municipalities’ failure to meet their pension contribution obligations and to consider a way forward.
