Parliament, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Electricity and Energy will meet tomorrow to consider and adopt its Budgetary Review and Recommendations Report (BRRR) on the performance of the Department of Electricity and Energy during the 2025/26 financial year.
The Auditor-General of South Africa reported that the electricity and energy portfolio maintained a generally stable control and governance environment during the year under review.
Four of the seven auditees, namely the National Nuclear Regulator, the National Radioactive Waste Disposal Institute, the South African National Energy Development Institute, and the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation, achieved clean audit outcomes.
The Department of Electricity and Energy and the National Energy Regulator of South Africa received unqualified audit opinions with findings, while Eskom retained a qualified audit opinion with findings.
