Parliament, Monday, 9 September 2024 – The Standing Committee on Appropriations expects to be briefed by the Minister of Higher Education and Training and the National Student Financial Aid Scheme on allegations of governance deficiencies that have resulted in the dissolution of the NSFAS board, and the entity being placed under administration.
The committee further expects to be appraised of the circumstances that led to the surrender of approximately R580 million to the national revenue fund despite shortfalls in student accommodation and continued funding risks.
