Parliament, Thursday, 30 April 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services will tomorrow conclude its oversight week with visits to Witbank Correctional Services in Mpumalanga. This will be followed by a debriefing session.
The Chairperson of the committee, Ms Kgomotso Anthea Ramolobeng, said the centres to be visited were carefully identified to ensure proper oversight of the department. She said the visit aims to cover different areas of the correctional system, including sentenced male adult inmates, sentenced females and mothers with babies, as well as remand detainees.
