Parliament, Wednesday, 29 April 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services will tomorrow continue with its oversight visit programme to Standerton and Middleburg correctional centres in Mpumalanga.
The Chairperson of the committee, Ms Kgomotso Anthea Ramolobeng, said the centres to be visited were carefully identified to ensure proper oversight of the department. She said the visit aims to cover different areas of the correctional system, including sentenced male adult inmates, sentenced females and mothers with babies, as well as remand detainees.
The committee has visited Nelspruit Correctional Centre, Barberton Town Youth Centre and Barberton Maximum Correctional Centre
