Parliament, Friday, 24 April 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies will undertake an oversight visit to Limpopo’s Waterberg, Capricorn and Vhembe districts from 28 to 30 April 2026.
The oversight visit forms part of the committee’s constitutional mandate to monitor the implementation of government programmes, with a specific focus on the rollout of broadband infrastructure, digital services and the progress of the SA Connect and Broadcasting Digital Migration (BDM) programmes.
The visit will also assess the participation of small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) in these initiatives, as well as challenges affecting implementation at provincial and local levels.
The committee will use the oversight visit to assess progress in expanding digital access, improving connectivity in underserved communities and ensuring that government programmes contribute meaningfully to economic participation and service delivery.

- Briefings by the Provincial Government and District Municipality on ICT strategies, broadband rollout, digital services and key challenges
- Engagements with SMMEs participating in SA Connect and BDM programmes
- Visit to Modimolle Post Office
