Parliament, Friday, 1 December 2023 – The Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies has extended the deadline for interested individuals and stakeholder organisations to submit written comments on the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) SOC Ltd Bill [B32-2023] to 16 January 2023.

The Bill seeks, amongst other things, to repeal the Broadcasting Act of 1999; to regulate the continued existence of the SABC SOC Ltd; to provide for its governance; to amend the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa Act of 2000 and the Electronic Communications Act of 2005; and to provide for matters connected therewith.

Those who will be making written comments are requested to also indicate their interest in making a verbal presentation to the committee. A copy of the Bill can be obtained from Ms Hajiera Salie on 061 472 9191 or on Parliament website by clicking here.
