Parliament, Tuesday, 23 June 2026 - The Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities will hold a joint meeting with the Standing Committee on Public Accounts (SCOPA) to be briefed by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities on governance, accountability, and oversight matters relating to the NYDA, including the entity’s annual reporting and whistleblower complaints.
The committees will also assess progress on remedial action arising from the Auditor-General of South Africa’s findings and recommendations on the NYDA’s 2024/25 annual report. The committees also seek to establish the causes of the late submission of the annual report and the steps taken to address related accountability concerns.
The committees will also receive responses from the NYDA Board, senior management, Internal Audit and the Audit and Risk Committee on the whistleblower complaints and related media reports.
