Parliament, Tuesday, 7 February 2023 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Enterprises, the Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources and Energy and the Select Committee on Public Enterprises and Communication will today have a joint committee meeting where they will be briefed by Eskom on immediate and medium-term solutions to load shedding, budget for maintenance of coal plants versus independent power producers, and a response to allegations made by organised labour.
The meeting is a follow-up to a meeting the committees had when they were on oversight last month that collapsed after the departure from the meeting of the Eskom’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr Andre de Ruiter, on account of another meeting he had to attend.
