Parliament, Tuesday, 2 June 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Women Youth and Persons with Disabilities will this week meet to conduct interviews for the appointment of commissioners for the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE).
The committee shortlisted 14 candidates to be interviewed. The names of the shortlisted candidates were published on Parliament’s website to allow for public comment and to ensure meaningful public participation. Redacted CVs were published on Parliament’s website from Monday 13 April to 26 May 2026 (30 working days or six weeks) for public commentary.
On Tuesday, the committee met to consider public comments and verification reports on qualifications from the State Security Agency and Parliament’s human resources department.
Interviews are scheduled in Parliament and virtually from 3 to 5 June 2026.
