Parliament, Friday, 21 May 2021 – The Portfolio Committee on Public Works and Infrastructure will tomorrow conduct the third leg of the public hearings on the Expropriation Bill in the KZN’s King Cetshwayo District. The uMhlathuze Local Municipality will be hosting the hearings.

The residents, civic based organisations, political organisations, traditional leaders from uMhlathuze, uMlalazi, Mthonjaneni, Nkandla and uMfolozi communities will get an opportunity to express their views on the Bill .

The Expropriation Bill seeks, among other things, to provide for the expropriation of property for public purposes or in the public interest and provide for certain instances where expropriation without compensation may be appropriate.
