Parliament, Wednesday, 18 August 2026 – The Committee on the Presidency will tomorrow begin a vital two-day cross-provincial benchmarking exercise to the KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng Provincial Legislatures from 19 to 20 August 2026, to identify and learn from best practices in legislative oversight mechanisms employed by these legislatures in strengthening accountability over the Offices of the Premier.
The exercise will also enable the committee to gain insights into oversight models, governance practices, accountability mechanisms and institutional arrangements that may inform and strengthen the committee’s oversight over the Presidency.
