Parliament, Thursday, 13 August 2026 – The Committee on the Presidency will tomorrow receive briefings from the Presidency on the coordination and implementation of commitments announced in the State of the Nation Address (SONA), with a particular focus on measurable outcomes, successes, weaknesses and areas requiring accelerated intervention.
The committee will assess progress in translating key SONA commitments into tangible outcomes, including those relating to economic growth and job creation, infrastructure development, energy security, public-sector reform and improved service delivery.
Committee members will seek clarity on how the Presidency is coordinating implementation across government, the mechanisms in place to monitor progress, and whether commitments are being translated into measurable improvements in the lives of South Africans.
The committee will also receive a joint briefing from the Presidency and the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation on efforts to fast-track the design of a digital dashboard to monitor the performance of major infrastructure projects aimed at contributing to socio-economic development. The proposed dashboard is expected to strengthen oversight by providing a consolidated view of the progress, performance and implementation challenges associated with mega infrastructure projects across government.
The committee will further deliberate on the briefings before considering and adopting its minutes and report.
Details of the meeting are as follows:
Date: Friday, 14 August 2026
Time: 08:00–13:00
