Parliament, Tuesday, 12 May 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on Employment and Labour will tomorrow, Wednesday, 13 May 2026, receive briefings from the Department of Employment and Labour, the Compensation Fund, the Unemployment Insurance Fund, and Supported Employment Enterprises on progress made in implementing remedial actions proposed by the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) for the 2024/25 financial year.
The meeting comes amid ongoing concerns relating to recurring irregular expenditure, procurement non-compliance, weak internal controls, ICT governance failures, and financial management weaknesses across the labour portfolio.
The committee will also consider and adopt the draft Budget Vote 31 Report.
