Parliament, Tuesday, 26 May 2026 – The Portfolio Committee on International Relations and Cooperation will tomorrow hold a commemorative meeting in Cape Town to celebrate Africa Month. This is a significant occasion to reflect on the founding principles, progress and aspirations of the African Union during Africa Month.
The meeting will provide a central platform for Members of Parliament to reflect on both the successes and persistent challenges facing the continent, thereby fostering a balanced and forward-looking discussion on Africa’s trajectory.
Professor Eddy Maloka is a diplomat and academic with over 30 years of experience in foreign policy, governance and public service. He will address the committee, offering insights on the commemoration and broader continental developments relevant to the theme: “the Africa we Want”.
