Parliament, Thursday, 1 June 2023 – The Portfolio Committee on Forestry, Fisheries and Environment will from tomorrow, 2 June 2023, conduct four public hearings on the Climate Change Bill [B9-2022], starting at The Forum Building, Parys Municipal Complex, in Free State.
The committee will then proceed with the second and third public hearings in Free State at the Ferdie Meyer Hall in Welkom and Simson Sefuthi Community Hall in Botshabelo on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The fourth public hearing will be conducted on Monday, 5 June 2023, at the Madibeng White Building Hall, Bojanala Platinum District, in North West.
The Climate Change Bill [B9-2022] seeks to enable the development of an effective climate change response and a long-term, just transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy and society for South Africa in the context of sustainable development. Members of the media are invited to attend.
