Parliament, Friday, 21 November 2025 – The Portfolio Committee on Correctional Services is on an oversight visit to Pollsmoor Correctional Centre, following the one the committee undertook in April this year to be briefed on progress on the implementation of recommendations the committee made to the facility’s management.
As part of its oversight programme, the committee will embark on a walkabout that will include the remand detainees admission system where the committee will also be briefed on the stabbing of a correctional officer by an inmate and the erroneous release of an inmate, among other things.
