Parliament, Thursday, 12 February 2026 – The Joint Standing Committee on the Financial Management of Parliament will tomorrow conduct a site inspection of the newly-completed Nieuwmeester Dome to assess its readiness for hosting parliamentary sittings.
This follows the official handover of the refurbished Nieuwmeester Dome by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Mr Dean Macpherson, to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms Thoko Didiza, last week. The Dome will serve as a temporary venue for parliamentary activities until the completion of the Parliament rebuilding project.
The Director-General of the Department of Public Works is expected to also brief Members on the project. Thereafter, the committee will continue with the business of the day, including the consideration and adoption of minutes and reports and correspondence.
