Parliament, Monday, 14 February 2026 – The Joint Standing Committee on the Financial Management of Parliament will this evening conduct a follow-up site visit to the Nieuwemeester dome to assess its readiness ahead of the debate on the State of the Nation Address on Tuesday afternoon.
During its site visit on Friday, the Joint Standing Committee made several observations and raised concerns about the Dome's readiness. The Department of Public Works and Infrastructure had assured the committee that all outstanding issues would be addressed over the past weekend.
The Nieuwemeester Dome will serve as Parliament’s temporary chamber while the reconstruction of the fire-damaged precinct continues.
